Ausgehend von einer Recherche in den Archiven der Zitadelle Spandau erkundet diese Arbeit den Ort von Haus 6 — ehemals Kaserne, heute Ausstellungsraum des ZAK.
Schwamm Haus 6 (2026) nimmt seinen Titel von zwei Fotografien aus den ZAK-Archiven — Spuren einer dauerhaften Feuchtigkeit, wie in einer auf dem Wasser gebauten Festung. Die Metallkiste aus meinen Familienarchiven wird neben einer Zeichnung gezeigt. Malereien und Digitaldrucke sind in handgenähten Tarnhüllen aus Teepapier verborgen und vor Ort getarnt.
Landschaftsmalerei 1, 2 und 3 (2026) sind drei Videoloops, die in situ rund um den Italienischen Bastion gedreht wurden — einem Ort, an dem während des Zweiten Weltkriegs in kleinen Mengen Vernichtungsgas produziert wurde. In 4K gedreht und in PAL transkodiert, umkreisen sie den Ort in Plansequenzen, die die malerische Geste in den dokumentarischen Akt integrieren.

Based on research conducted in the archives of the Zitadelle Spandau, this work explores the site of Haus 6 — formerly a barracks, now the ZAK’s exhibition space.
Landschaftsmalerei 1, 2 and 3 – Landscape Painting 1, 2 and 3 (2026) are three looped videos filmed in situ around the Italian bastion — a site where extermination gas was produced in small quantities during the Second World War. Shot in 4K and transcoded to PAL, they circumscribe the site in long takes that integrate the pictorial gesture into the documentary act.
Schwamm Haus 6 – Dry Rot House 6 (2026) takes its title from two photographs found in the ZAK archives — traces of a permanent humidity, like a fortress built on water. The metal box, from my family archives, is displayed alongside a drawing. Paintings and digital prints are concealed within hand-sewn camouflage envelopes (Tarnhüllen) lined with tea paper, camouflaged in situ.
